As of December 1st, the early application stage for most American universities has ended, and I believe many students have also successfully submitted all the application materials for the first stage.
This also means that the time for ED/EA's release is not far away! Xiaobin wishes all applicants the best in this tense and exciting moment, and deserves their long-term efforts. May you smoothly enter your desired university, continue to shine and achieve more brilliant results in this new stage!
So today, based on the 2024 US News ranking, Xiaobin has compiled the top 50 US university ED and EA rankings for the fall of 2024. Let's count down together!
As in previous years, the publication of ED/EA results in most schools is scheduled for mid December, and it is the peak period for the release until Christmas. Some schools may choose to start publishing results in early December. The exact release date still needs to be further announced by various schools.
The end of early application does not necessarily mean the end of the entire application process. There are three different outcomes for admission:
Accept/Admit:
Converts! Congratulations to everyone on winning their first victory!
Students who receive EA admissions can more confidently invest in regular application (RD).
Students who have received ED admissions need to withdraw their applications from other schools they are currently submitting and are not allowed to make any further applications. They must confirm their enrollment with the current school and pay a deposit.
*The school can still withdraw offers at any time after admission, so the grades for the second semester of 12th grade are still crucial and cannot differ too much from the grades before admission.
Defer:
Being deferred means that the application results will be postponed to the regular application stage for further consideration, which is also the most annoying situation for many students. But this is not a disapproval of your abilities and grades!
Students who have received Defer admission can:
According to the instructions of the admissions office, determine whether additional materials need to be submitted and promptly make up for them
Write a Love Letter to the admissions officer expressing their love for the school and major they are applying for, as well as their efforts during the application process. Clarify their desire to receive admission during the regular application phase
If the university allows, an additional letter of recommendation can be added to showcase one's abilities
Reject/Deny:
This situation indicates that the school has clearly stated that it will no longer consider your application and will no longer need to prepare for the regular application (RD) of the school.
But I also hope that students who receive rejection letters will not feel discouraged or give up on themselves because of this. Failure is the mother of success, and focusing on the next round of RD is the current priority.
Winning or losing is a common matter in military affairs. Admissions represent recognition of your personal abilities, but rejecting them does not mean denying them. I hope all students who have not yet received the offer from Dream School can prepare their RD application as soon as possible. If you encounter any problems, you can also scan the code to consult the assistant!
