×When Cyber students enjoy AP full marks

2024-01-21

Looking back on my high school years, except for the period when I applied for college, the rest of my memories were occupied by the AP exam. Especially in May 2020, when the AP exam was forced to change to an online exam for the first time due to the pandemic.

However, recently, the AP course and its exam organizer, College Board, announced that starting from May 2025, except for a few students with special requirements, 9 AP subject exams will be uniformly changed to a computer-based exam mode globally, and paper-based exams will no longer be available for AP subjects.
However, candidates still need to bring their own devices to the exam center to complete the exam, rather than completing it at home.
This means that all exam centers offering these 9 AP exams worldwide must arrange separate machine tests for these subjects, including all schools and test centers outside the United States!

2025 AP Computer Exam Subject:
AP African American Studies
(All American schools are eligible to take this exam in the first year)
AP Computer Science Principles
AP English Language and Composition
AP English Literature and Composition
AP European History
AP Psychology
(The first year of this exam provides a computer-based format)
AP Seminar Academic Research
AP United States History
AP World History: Modern
Computer Test Methods
The AP computer-based exam is the same as the current SAT computer-based exam, and students need to download Bluebook from the College Board official website in advance to the devices used for the exam (supporting laptops and tablets).
On the day of the exam, the invigilator at the exam site will help candidates activate the test questions and start the exam under the supervision of the invigilator. They will use the Test Day Toolkit application to manage machine exams.
For more information, students can visit the Bluebook website~

Question type and quantity
The type, quantity, and duration of the computer-based exam are the same as the current AP paper exam. The only change is to shift the exam format to online.
At the same time, the AP computer-based exam also allows students to return to previously uncertain questions, rethink their answers, and make modifications. They can also mark key points, notes, etc. on the page. But like written exams, students cannot return to the completed parts.
Outlook for 2026
The College Board has announced that computer-based exams will be a major trend in AP and will increase the number of computer-based exam subjects year by year.
Currently, CB plans to convert the following subjects to computer-based exams in May 2026:

However, this list may undergo changes, and the final list will be determined early next year.
Finally, those who want AP exam preparation materials can send a private message to Xiaobin in the background! Everyone can add assistants to stay up-to-date with the latest information about studying abroad!
